Crochet with Teddy yarn
Crocheting with Durable Teddy! I've come to love it, but I know many people are hesitant to crochet with teddy yarn. "Too difficult," "you can't see your stitches," "not for me." That's why I want to challenge you and take you on my 'Teddy' adventure!
Crocheting with teddy yarn takes some patience and a bit of skill. But believe me, once you get the hang of it, it's so addictive! And what's more... your amigurumi will be so super cute and soft with this yarn! This is also because you comb the yarn with a dog/cat comb. See the video below!
Crocheting with teddy yarn is trickier because the stitches are harder to see (though you can still see them!). So you'll have to work more by feel.
Crocheting with teddy yarn also has advantages! Sewing pieces together is much easier because it doesn't have to be so precise. Mistakes and imperfections are much less noticeable.
Soft toys get their "real" teddy bear look by combing the yarn with a dog/cat comb. This gives the bears their finishing touch!
A few tips:
- Crochet looser than you normally would. Crocheting tightly will make it harder for yourself, making the stitches less visible and tactile.
- A row counter and stitch marker are essential! Otherwise, you won't be able to keep track of the rows.
- Count every stitch in each row. If you're stuck, undo the row and start over. Luckily, with Durable Teddy yarn, this is very easy.
-
Combing stuffed animals is done carefully and carefully. Simply lightly comb the yarn and let the magic happen!
